a biome is a large naturally occurring community of flora and fauna occupying a major habitat, e.g., forest or tundra.
OUR BIOME WE ARE VISITING IS THE AMAZON RAINFOREST!- LOCATED IN BRAZIL.

question: what is your biome?

 Amazing Facts and Figures
The Amazon basin has the most developed rainforest of anywhere in the world. Over two-thirds of all the fresh water on earth is found within the Amazon basin and over 20% of the earth’s oxygen is produced there. Although exact numbers are not known, the basin may contain up to one million plant species.

these are two graphs we found at an information center  on real world problems in the amazon rainforest
question; what problems do you have in your ecosystem?

what you would find in our ecosystem --

in this video it shows you all the animals you'd find in the amazon rainforest .

this is a video we got from the nearest information center on the Top- level predators in the Amazon Rainforest

Question: what predator is the most dangerous in your biome?

                                     Why The Amazon Is Valuable

- We came across a information center and found out some cool things on why the amazon is valuable to us: The Amazon is one of the most important ecosystems. it cools the whole planet by 1-2 degrees Celsius. Its helps control rainfall and humidity in certain parts of the world. it absorbs over 300 million tons of carbon dioxide a year. There are medicines found from plants in the Amazon and if the amazon gets destroyed then we could destroy and never see any possible cures.

we just took this picture of an incredible view we witnessed at the top of our hike we took through the rainforest. This is a waterfall we passed.

Do you think the amazon is as valuable as it is put out to be?
~HOW HUMANS IMPACT THE AMAZON ~
we saw today that the human impact is very big in alot of rainforests around the world.  The amount of plants and animals homes that get cut down everyday is the the size of 60 football fields. Some problems we found were:
- Logging
- Gold Mining
- Rubbish
-  Bauxite Mining

--- This is a picture of one part of the Amazon rainforest destroyed that we found just now

should we stop destroying the Amazon??
